LUNCH MENU:   The lunch menu for today and Tuesday is:

CHARACTER TRAIT:  Responsible continues as our character trait this week. In "Nobody's Perfect," a book with stories by teens, one of the chapters advises teens to realize that they are responsible for their own happiness. In the book "Dracula Is a Pain In The Neck," Robert fears that his plastic Dracula doll is responsible for spooky doings at his sleep-away camp.

WELCOME BACK DANCE:  The 6^th & 7^th grade "Welcome Back Dance" will be this Friday from 3-5pm.  Admission is free!!!

SUMMER READING STUDENTS:  Please return any books you checked out over the summer to the library ASAP.  Ms. Andresen will waive any fines for summer reading books returned this week.

BIKE REGISTRATION:  Have you or someone you know had a bike stolen?  Since 1984, the National Bike Registry (NBR®) has been working with law enforcement to return stolen bikes to their rightful owners. "B" Day

DROP-OFF REMINDER:  This is a reminder for the mornings that your parents may not drop you off for school on Western or Bantam--only at the curb in the traffic circle by the foyer/entry to the school.

REMINDERS: 

• Cal Skate Nite is TONIGHT starting at 5:30.

• 7^th graders, this is the last day to turn in election forms.  The forms are due in the office

  by the end of school today.

• Yesterday in 6^th period you should have received a packet to take home to your parents.

  Please make sure your parents bring the yellow sheet to Back to School tonight at 6pm.

• Cal Skate Nite is this tomorrow night from 5:30-7:30, $6.50 for admission & skate rental.

LUNCH MENU:   The lunch menu for today and tomorrow is:

CHARACTER TRAIT:  Responsible is our character trait this week. First responders are people with jobs such as police officers, firefighters and paramedics. They are the first people who arrive at a scene such as a fire or accident. They often put their own lives in danger because they feel responsible for saving people. When you as a student act responsibly, you do what you are supposed to do such as homework, chores, and following your parent's rules.

REMINDERS: 

• City Bus passes are available from Ms. Dassow in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays,

  Thursdays & Fridays only. Bus passes are not available for purchase on Wednesdays.

• 7th Graders, Student Council forms are due back in the office by this Friday,Sept.  

  30^th.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL CHANGE IN TRYOUT TIMES FOR TODAY: 

The tryout times for today have been adjusted for early dismissal.  8th grade tryouts are from 2:15 – 3:45pm and 7th grade from 3:45 – 5:15pm.  Tomorrow is the last day of tryouts and they return back to the regularly scheduled times, 8th grade tryouts are from 3:00 - 4:30 pm and 7th grade from 4:30 - 6:00 pm.

• For those students who ride the City Bus, you can buy bus passes from Ms. Dassow in

•"A" Days are your 1°, 2° & 3° classes and "B" Days are 4°, 5° & 6° classes.  •Wednesdays are shortened days and dismissal is at 1:55pm.

•Dress Code Standards are posted in the classroom.  If you have any questions or need  

 clarifications, please ask a staff member. You will receive more information at the BEST

 training today.
