CHARACTER TRAIT: Self-motivated is our character trait this week. Motivated means you are eager to do something. Self-motivated means that you do things because you want to get them done, not because someone makes you do them.
MATH OLYMPIADS: Please join Mrs. Behm and Miss Sager today and every Tuesday at lunch in room G3 for Math Olympiads. Don't forget to bring your lunch.
LEADERSHIP NEWS: Spirit Week starts next Monday. There's a HUGE sale on reusable shopping bags in the Student Store! Bags now cost 10 cents here in Sonoma County.
SPIRIT WEEK: The details are in! Spirit Week starts next Monday with Pajama Day. Tuesday will be Dress Nice day, Wednesday – Hero Day, Thursday – Sports Day and Friday is Twin Day. Everyday at lunch starting at 12:15, there will be a spirit activity in the Courtyard.
GIRLS BASKETBALL: This afternoon your 7th & 8th grade Girls' Basketball teams will play Rincon Valley Middle School here in our gym starting at 3:30pm. Hope to see you there!
LIBRARY NEWS: Banned Book Week started September 21st. What does it mean to ban a book? It means to remove a book from the library. Our library is NOT removing any books. You can come to the library to see our display of books that people have complained about. Most complaints are unsuccessful and books like Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Scary Stories, Goosebumps, Twilight, and Captain Underpants are available for you to check out.
AUTHOR VISIT: During fourth period tomorrow, author Megan Shull will visit PJHS to talk about her book, the Swap. Hilarious yet surprisingly moving at the same time, The Swap gives us an insider's view at the differences (and similarities) between the lives of boys and girls.
The classes of Ms. Gavre, Mrs. Rocca and Mr. Griffin are coming. If you would like to attend and your class is not coming, you will need a pass from your fourth period teacher to attend a forty-five minute presentation that starts at 9:15. Copies of the Swap are available in the library.
